CTO & Technical Co-Founder (m/f/d)

We’re looking for our third co-founder.

We're developing a mobile app that sits on top of your existing bank account and automatically saves and invests a small portion of every expense – a self-tip – into ETFs. No financial knowledge required. No switching banks. No new habits. We're a behavioral layer that quietly changes what happens to your money by default.

We're built on an Open Banking infrastructure, where customer funds are managed by an established licensed banking partner that also provides our regulatory liability framework.

The team, CEO & CFO with backgrounds in strategy, marketing, finance, and operations, is based in Munich. Five months in, we have an early alpha MVP, a first-place pitch win, banking infrastructure partners on board, and investor conversations well underway.

What's missing is the person who owns everything technical.

The Role

Founding CTO position. You will be the third name in the company. Your Mission:

• Architect and build the full mobile product
  React Native, TypeScript, Tailwind – owned end-to-end by you
• Lead backend and API strategy
  From data models to infrastructure decisions that scale
• Build the core engine
  Open Banking (PSD2) integrations, AI-driven transaction categorization, automated investment flows
• Design secure financial infrastructure
  PII handling, encryption, compliance-aware architecture from day one
• Set up the operational foundation
  CI/CD, monitoring, crash reporting, release processes – because users are trusting you with their money
• Work closely with CEO and CFO
  Translate complex financial logic into simple, human product experiences

Who We’re Looking For

Technically, you are:

• Strong technical background (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar)
• A React Native expert who thinks in user journeys, not just components
• Full-stack savvy – comfortable from mobile UI to backend architecture
• An AI-native builder — you use AI tools as a genuine force multiplier
• Someone who understands that in fintech, trust is the product

As a co-founder, you are:

• Curious about user behavior – you talk to people, not just to code
• Opinionated about product direction and not afraid to say so
• Organized, structured, and someone who keeps things moving

Your background can vary. Senior engineer ready to make the leap. Ex-founder. Graduate who's been building on the side and waiting for the right moment. What matters is the combination: technical depth and the instinct to build a company, not just a codebase.

One practical note: if you're currently employed, we'd expect you to be ready to commit full-time once we close our first funding round within the next few months.
