About the Role

You'll build applications that help researchers and domain experts create, review, and analyze research data. Working within the Engineering team, you'll develop both user-facing interfaces and backend services that power task creation, file inspection, agent monitoring, and experiment comparison—directly supporting the research workflow.

What You'll Do

• Build interfaces for writing tasks, reviewing files and video, inspecting agent actions, and comparing experimental results.
• Develop APIs and PostgreSQL data models to support tasks, reviews, files, and experiments.
• Connect applications to data pipelines and file storage with robust input validation, permission controls, and clear error handling.
• Partner with researchers and domain experts to understand their needs, improve workflows, investigate bugs, and maintain performance as datasets scale.

What We're Looking For

• Experience building and maintaining applications used by real people.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, or Python with a backend framework like FastAPI, and comfort working across the full stack.
• Experience designing APIs and working with SQL and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• A practical mindset around testing, debugging, and incorporating user feedback.
• Initiative and follow-through on your work; you're principled in decisions, transparent about uncertainty, and collaborative in problem-solving.
• Background with annotation tools, research software, or interfaces for exploring large datasets is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS), object storage (S3), background job processing, or frontend testing frameworks is valuable but not required.
