Founding Product Engineer

Posted on Nov 6, 2026
You'll join Fig's founding engineering team as an early hire, working directly with the founders on core product decisions. Fig is building AI agents for industrial ingredient manufacturers—the $750B industry powering every food you eat. You'll own products end to end, from customer discovery through shipped software, working across backend systems, LLM agents, frontend, and infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Talk to ingredient manufacturers to understand their workflows and translate them into product.
- Build backend systems that ingest and process documents from customer ERPs and inboxes.
- Develop LLM agents that complete complex, multi-page compliance and food safety documents.
- Own products across the full stack, from problem definition through UI, and pick up whatever the company needs next.
- Ship fast and iterate on real user feedback rather than over-architecting.
- Work daily with founders from Stanford, Instacart, Nature's Fynd, and Bain.
What We're Looking For
- Product manager who learned to code, or a sole/first product engineer who owned a product end to end.
- At least 4 years of professional engineering experience with substantial hands-on work.
- Proven product sense: you've shipped products real people used, talk to users regularly, and can articulate tradeoffs.
- Full-stack capability to move features from backend through UI without waiting for specialists.
- Production experience with LLMs and agents is a strong plus.
- High drive and genuine excitement about the startup journey.
